to watch the Resident’s?
A.
Yes. We have 24 hour awake staff,
CNA on staff, RN on call, and
Physician on call 24 hours a day.
Q. Do the Resident’s
have any outings or activities?
A.
Yes. We have an activities program

to the Park, Library, Restaurants,

Q.
Do you have a Pharmacy that you
prefer to use?
A.
We do have a pharmacy that delivers
to our home for regular routine
medication’s and they bill
the family once monthly.. However
If a resident develops an infection
for example…a urinary tract
infection, or pneumonia, and the
Doctor Prescribes Antibiotics,
we will go to a local Pharmacy
and fill the RX prescribed so
that we can administer the medication
to the Resident sooner.
Q.
Why did you decide to work with
seniors? Why did you choose this
location?
A.
In our family we were
raised with our grandparents in
our home. We were taught to respect
and treat the elderly with kindness,
and to help when needed. Later
in life I began to have a passion
for helping seniors and have thought
about careers in this field. At
the age of 18 I had been given
the opportunity to take care of
an elderly woman with mild Dementia
in my home. I built a relationship
with this elderly woman and although
she never remembered my name,
when she needed me she called
me her friend. I receive great
joy working with seniors, and
this lead me to expand my knowledge
in the Disease of Dementia. I
took a course in the Dementia
Specialty Training Program offered
in the state of WA, and completed
my training as a Certified Nurse
Assistant. Later my husband and
I opened an Adult Family Home
(similar to an Assisted Living
Home in TX), and was managed by
the help of my mother in law Elena
who also operated a home for 12
years. I owned and operated that
home for 6 years, and have enjoyed
taking care of many seniors whom
I will never forget. I believe
God has a plan for me in Texas,
and he brought me to the Hill
Country for the purpose of providing
great senior care.
Q.
Do you allow pets?
A.
We allow certain types
of pets and on a case by case
basis. For example, if one of
our Resident’s is allergic
to cats, we would not allow someone
to move-in with a cat at that
time.
Q.
Do you allow smoking?
A.
We do not allow smoking inside
the home. Smoking will be allowed
outside only in a designated smoking
area. Cigarettes and/ or cigars
will be purchased at the expense
of the Resident or Resident Responsible
party.
Q.
Do you allow Alcohol drinking in
your home?
A.
We will allow alcohol drinking
in our home under the following
circumstances.
1.
If the Alcohol does not conflict
with any of the medications the
Resident is taking and the doctor
will write a note that “Okays”
alcohol with the Resident’s
currently prescribed medications,
then alcohol is permitted.
2.
The resident must be able to have
appropriate behavior during all
times of alcohol consumption.
Aggressive, inappropriate behavior
will not be tolerated in the home,
and may result in termination
of services.
3.
Alcohol will be purchased at the
expense of the Resident or Resident
